It is then that Wilson reveals his true intentions for Audrey by erecting a small chamber filled with spinning saw blades, with the purpose of extracting her soul to use in his creation. Wilson reveals a color painting of Shipahoy Dudley, a character of his own creation and the one he intends to use as the new 'ruler of the ink'.

Wilson hypothesizes that the Ink Demon must be moved down the hierarchy and a new force must take his place, one which they can control.
